Huddersfield Choral Society Children's Choir
It is now just over two years since we were 'adopted' by the Choral
Society. We are proud to bear this prestigious name and prouder
still to belong to such a renowned musical establishment. With all
its wealth of experience and tradition we can build a secure foundation
and have security for the future.
There are 84-members in the Children's Choir. All children aged
from 7 to 13 who can sing in tune and have enthusiasm and dedication
are welcome. Rehearsals are held at Waverley House, Huddersfield,
from 6.30 to 8pm. every Wednesday of term time. There is then the
opportunity to 'move on' to the H.C.S. Youth Choir, and maybe the
Choral itself.
We have had a very full and exciting year with concerts at Shepley,
Highfield St. James - where we raised £100 for the Mayor's
Charity fund for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Holmfirth Parish Church
and Dewsbury Central Methodist Church. We gave two very special
concerts for the 'Lions' Club, one in Huddersfield Town Hall and
one at Slaithwaite Leisure Centre. Our year ended with a return
to the Priory Church at Bolton Abbey for rather wet picnics but
a splendid concert!
We are delighted to be sharing the platform with the H.C.S. Youth
Choir for this very special Christmas Concert, "Festive Voices."
